According to a report on 91mobiles, the smartphone is expected to be launched in India by the end of May and will go on sale in the first week of June. The Vivo X21 is expected to be priced above Rs 30,000 in India. The report mentioned that there is no news about the standard variant (with a fingerprint reader on the back) to be launched in India.
While there is no information about the exact launch date, it is confirmed to happen by the end of this month. We don’t think the company will make any changes in terms of specifications or hardware. Talking about the design, the Vivo X21 will look similar to the Vivo X9. However, the Vivo X21 will come with curved glass back body and sports superior specifications.
On the front, it comes with a 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display offering Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. With the notch display, the device will come with 90.3% screen-to-body. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE Mobile Platform coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Vivo X21 sports dual rear cameras featuring 24MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, the device comes equipped with a single 24MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,200mAh non-removable battery that also supports 9V/2A (18W) fast charging technology
Meanwhile, the Vivo V9, which is expected to launch in India on March 27, will not come with an in-display fingerprint sensor but will rather keep a physical fingerprint scanner on the rear. What the V9 will sport, however, is an iPhone X-like notch cut out on the top of the display. This sounds a little disappointing considering how Vivo has been steamrolling ahead in terms of innovation wiith the X20 Plus UD and the Vivo Apex concept smartphone. A number of Android OEMs have launched and are yet to launch phones with notch cut outs for reasons unknown and Vivo probably wants in on the action.
