Nokia Mobile (HMD Global) has officially announced the Nokia X6 in China. The X6 follows the modern smartphone design elements with a “notch” and a full-glass back. It also showcases some “Artificial Intelligence” which is currently trending. The codename of the device seems to be “Dragon“
Nokia X6 starts at CNY 1,299 (Rs 13,800 approximately) for the base variant with 4GB RAM plus 32GB storage. The mid variant with 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage will retail at CNY 1,499 (Rs 16,000 approximately). The top model with 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage carries a price tag of CNY 1,699 (Rs 18,100 approximately).
The smartphone is currently available only in China with no word on a global launch as yet. Nokia X6 is offered at three storage variants going up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Nokia X6 is the first smartphone from the Finnish phone maker to feature the iPhone-like notch on the front. Bearing a glass body, it sports a 5.8-inch FHD+ display that supports 2280 x 1080 pixels. It has a non-removable battery with 3060mAh capacity.
The performance of the smartphone is handled by Snapdragon 636 processor, which also powers the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1. The handset maker is offering the New Nokia X6 in three variants – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. For security, the smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock.
Nokia X6 is equipped with a 16MP + 5MP dual-rear camera setup with a f/2.0 aperture lens and 1-micron pixels. On the front, it comes with a 16MP sensor with the same f/2.0 aperture and 1-micron pixel sensor. As artificial intelligence seems to be all the rage, Nokia is touting improved AI features on the smartphone for improved photography and it is said to detect the scene being captured and automatically optimise the colour contrast and depth of field. The AI also helps in capturing images with portrait lighting effect and supports face recognition as well. The Nokia X6 also gets the Bothie feature, which allows users to capture video and photos from both the front and rear camera simultaneously.
The phone has a USB Type-C port and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology. There’s a fingerprint sensor on the back as well as support for face unlock. And the Nokia X6 has a microSD card slot (that can also be used as a second SIM card slot if you don’t need removable storage).
