Vivo comes up with a new entry-level smartphone to its Y-series called Y53i. The smartphone is priced at Rs 7,990. While Vivo hasn’t officially announced it, Mumbai based retailer (Mahesh Telecom) has shared details about the smartphone.
Specifications on the box suggest that the smartphone comes with an 8 MP rear camera, unibody design, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The Vivo Y53i is powered by a Snapdragon 425 SoC. According to the tweet, the smartphone is priced at Rs 7,990 and is expected to take on the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and the Nokia 2. The price mentioned on the box of the smartphone is Rs 8,990.
On the camera front, the Vivo Y53i possesses an 8-mp rear camera with LED flash, along with a 5-mp front camera lens. The selfie camera also supports the Face Unlock feature. Packed with a 2,500mAH battery, the Y53i comes with connectivity options like dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
The Y53i runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is available via offline retail channels. There is no word on online availability of the smartphone yet. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 which is also priced at Rs 7,999 for the base variant, comes with an HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, a better Snapdragon 450 SoC, along with a bigger 3,300mAh battery making it a value for money proposition.
