Vivo has launched its flagship smartphone, the Vivo V9 in the Indian market today. The Vivo V9 comes at a time when the Chinese company is struggling to catch up with its counterpart Xiaomi. Like always, the Vivo V9 also boasts of an impressive selfie camera of 24MP and this time around, Vivo chose to add decent internals to the smartphone, unlike the Vivo V7 series. The device will be exclusive to Amazon India and will be sold at a price of Rs 22,900 in the country. That’s some sensible pricing by Vivo India.
The Smartphone is powered by 2.2 GHz Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 Processor. A 4 GB of RAM & Adreno 506 graphics processor ensures phone runs smoothly even the most memory intensive applications & still shows no signs of lag. 64 GB of internal storage can be expanded to 256 GB via a microSD card.
The Phone comes with a large 3260 mAh battery to support it’s 6.3 inch screen with TFT display having a resolution of 2280 x 1080 at 401 ppi. The screen is also protected by a durable Scratch Resistant glass.
Vivo V9 boasts of dual primary camera of 16 + 5 megapixel and 24 megapixel front Camera. It also supports Face Detection and high dynamic range(HDR) imaging.
If you’re thinking that might be a little too much detail for a flattering selfie, Vivo believes AI is the answer. A feature called AI Face Beauty uses machine learning to identify users’ age, sex, skin tone, and texture in order to “truly represent their beauty,” as the company puts it. There’s also a selfie lighting feature that sounds very similar to what Apple introduced on the iPhone X and 8, though Vivo is attempting to pull it off with a single (albeit high-resolution) camera. Stay tuned for how that works out.
The device will be available in three colour options to choose from for Rs 22,990. Pre-booking for the smartphone starts today on Amazon and it will be up for sale on April 2.
